What you’ll do as a Senior Accountant at Akuna: 

 Akuna is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance department. We are looking for a proactive, self-starter who can work independently to achieve both individual and team goals. This position will work closely with other team members from Finance, Middle Office and Procurement. As Akuna continues to expand by opening new offices and entering new markets, this position will continue to gain exposure and experience within international accounting and the trading industry. In this role, you will: 

• Take ownership of the month-end close process for numerous entities 
• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records including General Ledger, Income Statement, and Balance Sheet reporting 
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and profit and loss accounts, following up on discrepancies 
• Work together with Middle Office to facilitate the reporting of internal trading information 
• Assist with regulatory and financial audits 
• Work together with other members of the Finance team to find opportunities to support and add value to the business 

Qualities that make great candidates: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
• 3-5 years of professional accounting experience  
• Public accounting or trading industry experience is a plus
• CPA preferred but not required
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Proficient in MS Office software, specifically intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to preparing accurate work
