At Akuna we develop all of our own software, hardware, trading algorithms, and models to drive our platform. We combine the skills of our talented trading and quant teams with industry-leading technology produced in-house by our development team.
WORK LIFE BALANCE
Akuna’s employees enjoy a generous work-life balance with regular office hours and an extensive array of company-sponsored events including happy hours, team dinners, beach volleyball and fun-runs. Every year Akuna offers a weekend Company Trip – which in the past has included Las Vegas, New Orleans and Austin. Akuna also has a relaxed dress code, as we believe the quality of work matters much more than the formality of your clothing.
Born in Australia and raised in Chicago, Akuna started with 5 employees in 2011 and now has a team of over 150 staff with additional offices in Boston, Shanghai and a second international office coming soon.
We maintain a start-up mentality as we continue to build our firm. Everyone at Akuna plays a fundamental role in shaping our company and the markets we make while sharing in our successes. Akuna has dozens of employee-shareholders across all departments and this number continues to grow.
OUR HOME – CHICAGO
In 2016, we built a brand new office for our Chicago Headquarters. Our modern, collaborative workplace has sweeping 360° views of the lakefront and city skyline, pool and ping-pong tables, break-out hammock areas, writeable walls and enough room to continue to grow.
Chicago is a stunning international city which boasts an extremely competitive cost of living, convenient public transportation and sandy lake beaches.
